Sen. Akbari’s Town Hall Series to Host Education Commissioner, Mayor Harris

Guests will answer questions about Covid-19 and public schools, county resources

MEMPHIS — Sen. Raumesh Akbari will host a public town hall meeting with state education Commissioner Penny Schwinn on Wednesday and Shelby County Mayor Lee Harris on Friday.

Sen. Akbari is facilitating the Covid-19-themed online question-and-answer forum as a part of series with elected leaders and state officials.

“Families have questions about how we move forward as a community and as a state while protecting the health of our loved ones,” Sen. Akbari said. “And every person deserves to have their concerns heard.”
