Senate Democrats elect leadership for the 114th Tennessee General Assembly
NASHVILLE — The Tennessee Senate Democratic Caucus is proud to announce the results of its leadership elections for the upcoming 114th Tennessee General Assembly:
- Senator Raumesh Akbari (D-Memphis) has been re-elected to serve a second term as Senate Minority Leader;
- Senator London Lamar (D-Memphis) will continue her service as Caucus Chairwoman for a second term; and
- Senator Charlane Oliver (D-Nashville) has been re-elected as Vice-Chairwoman.
The re-election of these dedicated leaders reflects the shared vision within the Senate Democratic Caucus as they prepare to address the challenges facing Tennessee.
Under their leadership, the Caucus remains committed to advocating for policies that rebuild Tennessee’s middle class by cutting costs for families, boosting income and investing in fundamental services, such as public schools, healthcare and transportation.
The 114th Tennessee General Assembly is set to convene in January, and the Senate Democratic Caucus is prepared to advance a forward-thinking agenda that prioritizes the freedom and well-being of all Tennesseans.
